Getting Started with MAESTRE
This guide will help you begin your journey with MAESTRE, from account creation to setting up your first classroom.
Creating Your Account
To begin using MAESTRE, you'll need to create an account:
- Visit the MAESTRE platform at maestre.netlify.app
- Scroll down the home page to Log in or Sign Up if you don't have an account already
- Accept the Terms of Service.
- Once you are in, complete your data your profile with:
- Region (e.g.: Andalucía)
- City (e.g.: Sevilla)
- School (e.g.: IES Macarena). If you don't find your school yet, you can create it.
Setting Up Your First Classroom
Once you're connected to your school, you can create your first virtual classroom:
- Navigate to the "Classrooms" section from the main dashboard
- Click on "Create New Classroom" button
- Fill in the required information in the form:
- Name: Enter a name for your classroom (maximum 30 characters)
- Academic Course: Select the appropriate grade level from the dropdown menu (based on your school's educational stages)
- Academic Year: Enter the academic year in YYYY-YYYY format (e.g., 2023-2024)
- Description: Provide a brief description of your classroom (maximum 255 characters)
- Click the "Create" button to finalize your classroom setup
Note: The academic year must follow the format YYYY-YYYY (e.g., 2023-2024), and the second year must be exactly one year after the first.
Adding Students
After creating a classroom, you can add students individually or in bulk:
- Open the classroom you created
- Navigate to the "Students" tab
- Click "Add Student" to add a single student:
- Enter the student's name (maximum 30 characters, letters only)
- Enter the student's surname (maximum 30 characters, letters only)
- Click "Add" to save the student to your classroom
Uploading Your First Materials
To add educational materials to your classroom:
- Open the classroom where you want to add materials
- Navigate to the "Materials" tab
- Click "Add Material" to open the upload dialog
- Select the classroom where you want to add the material
- Upload your file by either:
- Dragging and dropping the file into the upload area
- Clicking "Browse Files" to select from your computer
- The file name will be automatically filled in, but you can edit it if needed (maximum 50 characters)
- Click "Create Material" to upload and make it available to your students
Supported file formats include PDF, DOC, DOCX, PPT, PPTX, TXT, PNG, and JPG. The maximum file size is 50MB.
